Collection of anonymous, but high quality loose leaf watercolours and drawings in pencil and washed ink, depicting flowers, land and seascapes, portraits, interiors, etc., partly after paintings. Tog. 49 lvs., a.e.g. 486 x 139 mm each. Sm-8°-obl. In richly gilt red mor. box and marbled paper cardboard slipcase, both box and drawings having their own sleeve.

AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION from the mid 19th c. and earlier, pasted in 12 notebooks by a Dutch collector and made accessible by means of an alphabetical index in ms. c. 1858-94. All signatures arranged according to profession and all separately annotated (name, place and occupation, place and year of birth). In old 4° marbled paper binder.

BELGIAN REVOLUTION -- SLUIJS DE QUACK, Pieter v. (1801-1883). "Herinneringen uit mijn militaire leven als vrijwilliger bij de 5e Afdeeling Infanterie tijdens de Belgischen Opstand, 1830-1833, in Staats-Vlaanderen/in Noord-Brabant". BOOK OF HOURS -- ILLUMINATED PERICOPE from Mark 16:14. Flanders, late 15th c. Ms. on vellum, fragment. 1 leaf r° and v°, 200 x c. 136 mm. W. decorative floral border in colour, enclosing a representation of Mark, writing to his lectern, the lion lying on the floor near to him. Initial in blue.

BOOK OF HOURS -- LEAF from a book of hours. Normandy, c. 1450. Ms. on vellum, fragment. 1 leaf r° and v°, 99 x 73 mm. Initials partly gilt and in red & blue.

BOOK OF HOURS -- QUIRE from a book of hours. 15th c. Ms. on vellum, fragment. 8 lvs. r° and v°, 170 x 123 mm. Initials in red, blue and gilt.

CALLIGRAPHY -- "SEELEN ERQUICKUNG In sich haltend Außerlesene Meeß, Beicht und Communion Gebett (…)". 1757. Calligraphed prayer-book in black, reddish brown and blue ink w. all kinds of very fine ornaments. 186 pp. Sm-8°. Simple black mor. bind., spine gilt and sides w. gilt borders. (Spine a bit worn/dry, free endpapers gone).

CALLIGRAPHY -- "TÄGLICHES LOB GOTTES. Das ist Morgen-, Abend-, (…) und andere schöne Gebetter nebst den H. Creutz-weeg. Zum gebrauch eines jeden Gottesfürchtigen Christen geschrieben 1776". DORDRECHT -- DE KAT -- COLLECTION OF 13 LETTERS on financial affairs (mainly orders to buy and sell shares) addressed to "Burger" Otto de Kat (1737-1829), written by various hands between 1785 and 1797. GARDEN ARCHITECTURE -- MANUSCRIPT PLAN of a garden lay-out of a stately mansion, most probably French. Late 18th/early 19th c. Anonymous intersected drawing on paper in ink and colour wash in 25 parts, laid down on sackcloth. Total size 950 x 1100 mm. (In need of some restoration: intersections loosening and torn in places, stained).

'S-GRAVENHAGE -- ALBUM HOESEECLUB/HOEZEECLUB. Album from the bowling club "Hoeseeclub". (1876-1938). Manuscript in different hands on 148 lvs. W. several illuminated/calligraphed leaves, cold. by hand and/or heighthened in gold/silver. Fol. In cont. h. mor. blind tooled red binding, w. gilt dec. on front side and gilt lettering "hoeseeclub", all edges gilt. (Extremities sl. dam./worn, some scratches on spine, bind. a bit shaky).

'S-GRAVENHAGE -- "KORTE NOTULEN en Aantekeningen Van't verhandelde in de resp. vergaderingen van de Ed. Agtbare Heren Schout, Burgemeesteren, Schepenen en Vroedschappen van S'Gravenhage sedert den 25 November 1748 [tot en met] 9 Julij 1770". Ms. on laid paper, (61) lvs. r° and v°, followed by 45 blanks. Bound in 4°, richly gilt dec. cf. 18th c. binding.

PRAYER BOOK. Cologne (?), late 15th or early 16th c. (265) lvs. Ms. in black and red ink on laid paper. Thick sm-8°, 160 x 105 mm. Bound in cont. pigskin over wooden brds., painted red, sides paneled and blind stamped w. various ornaments, upper and lower inner hinge w. strips of old ms., w. brass clasps (of which 1 is from a later date) hinged to bind. w. leather strips, and brass catches. (Rebacked w. re-use of parts of the old spine).
