Minutes intended for a candidacy for the (Maltese) Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. Albert Marie de Romé de Vernouillet (1730-1793) embraced a military career. Captain of cavalry in the regiment of la Rochefoucauld (1751), he served in Germany from 1757 to 1759, was Lieutenant-Colonel of the regiment of Liège volunteers (June 12, 1759), field marshal in 1791, brigadier general in 1793. He was condemned to death that year, accused of having wanted to deliver Blois to the Vendeans. Admitted to the Order on March 9, 1754.€ 800
