Third edition of this first German translation of Livius and a page-by-page reprint of the first edition, also published by Schöffer in 1505. One of the most richly illustrated books from a Mainz office of the 16th century. The full-page woodcut shows the translator Schofferlin presenting the work to Emperor Maximilian I, who is enthroned and surrounded by the seven Electors.
