For this second edition of Bocchi's influential emblem book Giulio Bonasone's original engravings were entirely re-cut by Agostino Carracci. - Landwehr, Romanic Emblems, 163: "Some of the emblems derive from Colonna's Hypnerotomachia, 1499 e.g. emblem I and CXLVII.
