Fine cont. mottled cf. w. raised bands, richly dec. gilt backs, brown labels, & red edges. (Spine ends chipped/sl. dam., 2 upper corners vol. 2 skilfully rep., upper outer corner vol. 1 faintly stained in places, a bit browned/foxed in places, but a very good and complete set w. ample margins).

The editors added explanations of Vesalius's sixteenth-century anatomical nomenclature for their eighteenth-century readers, and prefaced the first volume with a biography of Vesalius, which Lindeboom has tentatively attributed to Boerhaave (...)." This set with the often lacking plates 74 and 75, depicting the naked figures of a man and a woman.
