Important work by an author who may be considered as the founder of pathological anatomy. DSB IX, p. 511-2: "(…) the special merit of M.'s work lies in its synthesis of case materials with the insights provided by his own anatomical investigations. In his book Morgagni made careful evaluations of antatomic-medical histories drawn exhaustively from the existing literature. (…) The case histories collected in 'De sedibus' (…) represent the work of an entire school of anatomists, beginning with Malpighi, then extending through his pupils Valsalva and Albertini to Morgagni himself".€ 300
