Second ed. published by Kessler and edited by Johann Ulrich Surgant of the collection of homilies and sermons from predominantly patristic sources, probably compiled by Paulus Diakonus between 782 and 786 on the orders of Charlemagne. The collection was widely distributed throughout the Middle Ages, although its composition and conception were repeatedly changed. The division of the homiliary, which was initially structured in two parts into the two sections of the church year ('Pars hiemalis' and 'Pars aestivalis'), has been replaced here by the division into 'De tempore and De sanctis'. A Basel manuscript (preface by the editor to the printer) served as the text basis. - Goff H-319; Hain-Copinger 8793*; GW 12931; BM 15th cent., III, p. 773 (IB. 37666).€ 600
