Collection of 41 beautiful chromo-lithographs of different horse breeds produced after paintings by the famous Groninger animal painter Otto Eerelman (1839-1926). The lithographs measure 600 x 460 mm and resemble oil paintings, thanks to a very expensive printing procedure which gives the surface of the prints an oily expression. Among the horses portrayed are the English fullbred, the Arab horse, the Russian and American race horse, the Lippizaner horse, the Hannover horse, the Groninger horse, etc. Each horse is described in a 4 page descriptive text printed on laid paper. A list of subscribers is added to this copy, and only a couple of hundred copies where published.€ 4000
