Rare, almost complete run of a typical 19th c. periodical devoted to global geographical knowledge, travelling, expeditions and discoveries. Until 1887 all texts are anonymous, but from 1887 onwards the names of the writers are mentioned. Lavishly illustrated, the illustrations being for the greater part by French artists (many from the studio of Doré), but Dutch & German names also occur. Lacking only the last 3 years: 1938, 1939 and 1940. - Photostats of all the indexes are added.
