Fourth French edition of 'Historia de las cosas mas notables y costumbres del gran reyno de la China' (first published in Spanish, 1585), the first serious survey of China. "This work is mainly a compilation from the narratives of Gaspar de Cruz, Martin de Rada (Herrada), and Pedro de Alforo, missionaries, to which is added the Itinerary of Father Martin Ignaxio" (Cox I, p. 322). The sixth book contains the Itineraire du Nouvveau Monde by Ignacio de Loyola (d. 1606).
