DORDRECHT -- ALBUM AMICORUM for Helena Johanna Vriesendorp (1838-1907), daughter of Corneille Adrien Vriesendorp en Antonetta Roodenburg, later married to Jan Jacob Blussé. Period 1854-67. W. c. 60 contributions in ms. on paper, 2 drawings and a (dam.) paste-up over the period 1854-1867 by relatives and friends. Sm-4°. Cont. red cl., a.e.g. (Hinges a bit weak).

Probably as a gift on Helena's 16th birthday when she was sent to Château de Koekelberg, a prestigious boarding school in Belgium near Brussels. The contributions consist of fragments from literary works in Dutch, German, French and English. Names occurring in this album: various members of the Vriesendorp family, members of the Blussé family (including a watercolour by Jan Jacob Blussé), Anderson, Van Deventer, Van Lanschot-Huibricht, Tak, fellow students of Château de Koekelberg, and also by Marie Adrien Perk, the father of the poet Jacques Perk.
