MANUSCRIPTS -- TALISMANIC & ASTROLOGICAL HANDBOOK. Ottoman Empire, Anatolia, late 18th-early 19th c. (c. 1780-1840). Over 300 lvs. Ms. on Islamic handmade paper in Ottoman naskh with rubrication in red, w. num. talismanic diagrams in red, yellow, and black: concentric circles, rosette patterns, Seals of Solomon, and magic squares. Dimensions: 10,5x7 cm; written area approx. 7x4 cm. In a red-brown leather binding with blindtooled hexagonal and star motifs, with envelope flap. (Some drawing/scribbling in an old hand on endpapers, a few stains/inky smudges, but in good condition).

This richly illustrated pocket-sized occult compendium exemplifies the Ottoman tradition of esoteric sciences, blending Arabic sacred texts with Turkish commentary for use in astrology, protection, and divination.
