'De piscatu' is a Greek didactic poem on fish and fishing, written by Oppian of Cilicia, author in the time of Caracalla (A.D. 211-217). 'De venatione', a similar poem on hunting, has long been attributed to the same author, but appears to have been written by another author called Oppianus of Syria. Beautifully printed (partly in Greek type) by the Plantin Press. - Hoffmann III, 163; Adams O-207; Dibdin II, 252-3: "(...) treasure it among the most useful as well as scarce editions of Oppian".
