First Dutch edition of a beautifully illustrated work on the Japanese festive ceremonies and customs, written by Isaac Titsingh (1745-1812), i.a. head of the Dutch Factory at Decima for the Dutch East Indian Company. The Dutch edition was translated from the English edition of 1822 which itself was a translation of the French edition of 1819.
