Fol. Later vellum, spine raised in compartments & gilt dec., black ti. label. (Inner margin of some lvs. reinforced, rep. in places, fold. map. rep. on v°, a bit stained/thumbed throughout, tear in leaf e6 (OT), small hole in inner margin leaf C6 (NT), occasional stains/small defects, but a very good copy).
Rare, complete copy of the 5th edition of the Vorsterman Bible (first 1528), richly illustrated with an abundancy of fine woodcuts, including the map of the Holy Land after Lucas Cranach. The text follows the Liesvelt Bible, was read by protestants and catholics alike and became a large success.
