PERRON, E. du. Het land van herkomst. 2e dr. Amst., Querido, 1935. 1 in 3 vols. 496 pp. Cont. brds covered in batik cl., w. interleaved pp. numbered 1-297 in pencil. (Spines tanned, wear to extremities, owner's name pasted on to first free endpaper of vol. 1: "R. Nieuwenhuys. 30-6-'36 Djocja", many notes in ink and pencil, vol. 3 w. several of the pp. following p. 448 misbound, but all pp. present).

From the library of Rob Nieuwenhuys. The notes in ink in the margins and the interleaved pp. match almost entirely the notes Du Perron added for his friend, the poet J. Greshoff; we have found 11 variations/absences. The notes in this set seem to have been copied from the Greshoff-copy by Nieuwenhuys’ wife Frieda. However, the scores and corrections Du Perron made in the text have been copied only sporadically. Another set of corrections and notes, in pencil, seems to be by Nieuwenhuys and is mostly about the proposed corrections by du P. and the difference between the 2nd printing and the Verzamelde Werken (it’s unclear which of the two eds of Verzamelde werken is alluded to); also a few relating to the content of the book, and a few notes on Malayan idioms. A third hand, in pencil, may be E. du Perron-de Roos; we have, however, not been able to ascertain that.
