ZESTIG BIJBELTAFEREELEN uit het Oude en Nieuwe Verbond naar de Prachtmedaljes van Thomason, te Londen, berustende in het Koninklijke Penningkabinet, te 's Gravenhage, afgegoten door den Amanuensis H.J. van Kempen. (The Hague), n.d. (ca. 1880). Sixty plaster cast tokens (70 mm diameter) w. handwritten index. Mounted in 5 series of 12 in book-shaped box (370 x 280 x 110 mm). Or. red mor. w. gilt lettering, brass clasps representing Aaron & Moses, 5 gilt frames w. purple corduroy covering, bound together w. red cl. (Wear to extremities, clasps loose but present, lowest frame loose, some medals slightly damaged or cracked, not inspected out of frames).
Extremely rare, possibly unique collection of cast gypsum tokens after Sir Edward Thomason's 'Medallic Illustrations of the Holy Scriptures', otherwise known as the Medallic Bible, of 1830. Cf.
