An extremely rare and luxurious Meiji-era album illustrating the twelve annual festivals, traditionally celebrated in Edo (modern Tokyo), one for each month of the year. The plates show shrine visits, temple rituals, seasonal processions, and elaborate festival costumes. This splendid work was published by Kazumasa Ogawa, a pioneer of collotype printing in Japan, known for his exquisite visual documentation of Japanese life and customs for both domestic and international audiences.
