Major work of the Protestant theologian Christian Matthiae (1584-1655), first published in 1648. Describes the rulers of the following empires: I. Babylon and Assyria. II. Media and Persia. III. Greece. IV. Rome. The latter includes the German-Roman emperors (except for Rudolf II). - Spoelder 528 (Delft 3); Willems 1397: "C'est la dernière et la plus complète des trois éditions de cet ouvrage."
