The first line of the title is engraved in Turkish: Usul ül-hikem fi nizam il-ümem. Ibrahim Müteferrika, (1674-1745), Hungarian-born Ottoman diplomat, publisher and, among other things, historian; the first Muslim to run a printing press with movable Arabic type. This account of European military strategy was printed at his own press in 1732. The translator, Count K.I.S. Revicky did not attempt an exact translation but preferred to give the sense of the text. - Atabey 603.€ 300
