LIBER AMICORUM -- ALBUM AMICORUM Cornelis Johan de Lange, anno 1772. W. c. 30 contributions in ms. and 2 watercolour drawings. Sm-8°-obl. Bound in elaborately gilt tooled red morocco by the Hunting Roll Bindery, Leiden, dated 1772 on the back side, a.e.g. (Few minor scratches to bind. along edges, but in perfect condition).

Liber amicorum for Cornelis Johan de Lange from Gouda (1753-1820?), who matriculated as a Law student at Leiden University on April 10, 1771. (Album Studiosorum Acad. Lugd. Bat., col. 1104; NNBW VIII, 1007-8). With manuscript contributions by fellow students, i.a. by Johan Meerman (1753-1815), whose collection of books would eventually form the basis for the 'Museum Meermanno/Huis van het Boek'. This binding similar to the one depicted in Storm v. Leeuwen IIA, p. 292.
