Piazza, (1934). 174, (2) pp. W. 1 or. watercolour drawing (100 x 100 mm), 35 collotype facs. of watercolour drawings (1 as front., the others in text), some finished by hand, and 70 plates repeating the illustr., once plain and once in colour, all by H. Cassiers. Lge-8°. Cont. brown mor. signed by the Parisian binders G. Canape & G. Corriez (dated "1934" at end), each side w. coat of arms which is probably of Jean Louis Napoleon Régnier, duc de Massa (1875-1946) in the centre, within a border of rose branches (the roses themselves in red), spine raised in 4 gilt compartments, incl. name of the author and title, inside dentelles (the flowers also cold.), dec. cloth paste downs and endleaves, extra gold sprinkled paper endleaves, ribbon marker, a.e.g. In the or. slipcase.

This is copy no. 1 (of 25) of the deluxe edition, printed on fine Japanese paper. Henri Piazza published the work as part of a series devoted to Flanders, 'Toute la Flandre', containing several works by Verhaeren, all illustrated by Henri Cassiers. - Carteret IV, p.391: "Belle publication cotée".
