This copy - not in the NCC/Worldcat!? - has a variant woodcut illustration on the title-page whereas the edition recorded in the reference works has an engraved illustration (see previous lot) with an inscription such as called for by Asher 100, a.o. We came across another publication without an illustration, so there must be at least three editions. This copy once owned by the famous historian Ubbo Emmius (1547-1625): on the front side in ink "Sum Ubbonis Emmii" which is repeated below the address on the title-page. - Borba de Moraes p. 926 (not mentioning this edition); Asher 100 (other edition); Knuttel 3426 (other edition).€ 700
