Very fine cont. green mor. binds. by Hayday & Co., sides ruled in gilt, spines w. gilt dec. compartments, inside dentelles, marbled endpapers, a.e.g. (Binds. a bit chafed in places, espec. at extremities, some foxing throughout, but a v.g. copy).

Inscribed (in both volumes) by the author to Sibyl Evelyn Herbert Noyes, dated Winnington (Hall), December 8th 1864. Sibyl was one of the 'Winnington girls' and was the original Sibyl of 'Ethics of the dust'. There are references in Ruskin's Winnington letters (p. 523, 525 and 534) that he had this copy specially bound in two parts for her. Newspaper clippings.
