LOW COUNTRIES -- UTRECHT -- "NIEUWE KAART VAN DEN LANDE VAN UTRECHT". Amst., J. Covens & C. Mortier, n.d. (1743). Engr. map. on 11 conjoined sheets in nice cont. colouring w. large cartouche by T. Doesburgh after G. Hoet. 120 x 185 cm. Framed and glazed. (Not inspected out of frame, apparently not attached to mount and in v.g. condition).
Copy without the border with the coats of arms and town views, printed on separate sheets. This is the 2nd, considerably augmented state (of 4). Originally published in 1696 by N. Visscher. - Donkersloot-De Vrij 754 ("Deze kaart werd waarschijnlijk zonder en met randversiering uitgegeven"); Koeman, Geschiedenis, p.95 ("In de tweede druk (...) werden vele verbeteringen en aanvullingen aangebracht").
