MANUSCRIPTS -- 'ABD AL-KARÎM b. AHMAD b. Zâhir al-'Âmilî al-Tîtwânî. Al-Sirâj al-Wahhâj fî Amdâh Sâhib al-Tâj wa-l-Mi'râj. Morocco (probably Tetuán), 1179/1765. Approx. 275 lvs., complete. Moroccan ms. in brown and red ink, in a neat Maghribi hand with vocalization; rubricated throughout with red markers, catchwords, and colophon. On European Fabriano paper. Lge-4° (27.5x20 cm), written area 22x13 cm. Bound in cont. full brown blindtooled leather with fore-edge flap, centerpieces painted blue. (Some wear to binding, repairs at spine and extremities, lower margin waterstained/rather dam. & repaired w. mending tape in places, scattered ink corrosion, later annot./scratching in blue ink on a few lvs.).

The author identifies himself within the manuscript as 'Abd al-Karîm b. Ahmad b. Zâhir al-'Âmilî al-Tîtwânî, governor of Tetouan until his deposition in 1179/1765, the very year recorded in the colophon. A contemporary Moroccan copy of the author’s work, likely produced during or soon after his governorship of Tétouan, possibly under his direct supervision.
