Very good copy of an important work on surveying, originally published in 1600. Jan Pietersz. Dou (1615-1682) was "ongetwijfeld de bekendste landmeter die het Hoogheemraadschap Rijnland ooit gediend heeft." (Koeman, p. 60). Together with Johannes Sems (1572-before 1652) he wrote this manual to which the Frisian Sybrant Hansz. Cardinael (1578-1647) added his geometrical 'questions and answers'.
