NITTINGER, C.G.G. Die Impfzeit und die Protestanten gegen Jenner's Gift und Zauber. Lpz., G. Brauns, 1859. (2), 237, (3) pp. W. lithogr. front.-portr., fold. cold. lithogr. plate & fold. table. Clothbacked brds. (Spine a bit dam., owner's entry on free endpaper, a bit browned/foxed).
Nittinger (1807–1874), a physician, was engaged in the scientific study of poisons, but from 1848 onwards became one of the most outspoken critics of smallpox vaccination and the Württemberg vaccination law. This work reflects his vigorous opposition to Jenner’s discovery and the practice of vaccination. - Hirsch-H. IV, 375.€ 100
