Printed in an ed. of 1000 copies, this copy nr 542. - Juan José Navarro de Viano y Búfalo, first Marquess de la Victoria (1687-1772). At eight years old he was enrolled in the Spanish Navy at Naples and proceeded to have an illustrious life-long career, not only as an officer but also as a teacher and reformer. The artist spent 35 years refining the work, that was never published. The original manuscript resides at the Muséo Naval in Madrid.
