ESCHER, Maurits Cornelis (1898-1972). Postcard, Laren 19 Nov. 1971. 100 x 142 mm. On the v°-side message to the addressee, signed by Escher and stamped, i.a. on the availability and price of some of his prints.
Postcard written near the end of his life. The address on his stamp is from The Rosa Spier Huis which is a retirement home in Laren, where many notable Dutch artists lived out their final years. Escher wrote that only two prints were available: 'Hol en Bol' (fl. 1200) and 'Zwanen' (fl. 1000), but 'Alléén als u ze komt afhalen' (=only if you come to pick them up).€ 200
