Second edition of the first complete treatise ever written on differential calculus, including the original publication of ideas by Leibniz and Johann Bernoulli. As such, this textbook by the French mathematician L'Hospital (1661-1704) is a mathematical milestone. On p. 145 he provides a technique to evaluate limits of indeterminate forms, the "L'Hospital's rule". Although the rule is attributed to him, the theorem was actually the work of Bernoulli. - Macclesfield Library 1256; Honeyman 2006 (1st ed.).
