Late 18th c. full red mor. w. raised bands, sides ruled in gilt, gilt coat of arms of James Harris 1st Earl of Malmesbury on both sides, inside dentelles & a.e.g. (Spine ends partly dam., corners a bit worn, a bit browned/foxed).

First Elzevier edition of Ovid. Willems 317: "Édition jolie et assez rare (…)"; Dibdin II, 266-67; Schweiger II, 630. - James Harris, 1st Earl of Malmesbury (1746-1820) was an English diplomat who was stationed in The Hague during the 'Patriottentijd'.
