STUDIO SAMPLE BOOK containing many designs on paper in gouache, ink, charcoal and pencil. Paris, Locatelli (?), 1962-66. W. thousands of samples tipped in/laid down. Thick lge-fol. Ohcl. (Wear to extremities, chafing).
Massive amount of designs for fabric, wallpaper, commercial decorative posters and various home textiles (e.g. dishcloths), dated by month from january 1962 to january 1966. In some instances b&w photo's of the designs have been added. Some fabric samples loosely inserted. Two samples have been stamped with an adress for "Locatelli dessins (textiles)". All samples are annotated in a nonchalant hand with the names of (presumable) clients: Bera, Rhomberg, Kasseler, Galway, Dumont, Delft Cardinaal, Montagne, Au bon Marché etc. A very colourful view on the fabric trends of the early 1960's.€ 300
