(&) Supplement. Amst./The Hague, P. Brunel, P. Husson (etc.), 1726-39. Tog. 13 (8 vols. & 5 suppl.) in 16 vols. W. 2 engr. fronts. (vol. 1 & vol. 1 suppl.) & 1 engr. plate. Lge-fol. Fine cont. full blind tooled vellum w. raised bands. (Small tickets on spines, small libr. stamps to suppl.-vols., endpapers renewed, some minor foxing in places, else a very fine set with ample margins).

Important and extensive work on the diplomatic corps of human rights by Jean Dumont Baron de Carlscroon (1667-1727), a French publicist. It was continued in 1739 by Rousset de Missy and Barbeyrac. It contains treaties from 315 A.D. to 1730. The treaties are all in their original language. The first volume of the supplement by Jean Barbeyrac contains treaties from antiquity: "Histoire des anciens traitez, ou Recueil historique et chronologique des traitez répandus dans les auteurs grecs et latins et autres monumens de l'antiquité." Rather rare, especially in this condition.
