The portrayed is holding a blackbird and wears a silver broche issued by the 'Nederlandsche Studenten Roei-bond'. This original broche is added to the lot. In the background a landscape is visible in which the castle of Cannenburgh (Vaassen) can be identified. This fine painting was exhibited during the exhibition 'Eppo Doeve. Terug in Wageningen' in 2019. Painted in the typical 'magisch realisme' style of the late 1930's which reminds of Dick Ket and Carel Willink. In very good condition.€ 1800
