Dissimilar old cf., vol. 1 w. gilt supralibros of Ralph Sneyd (of Keele), probably 1793-1870, centered on both sides. (Binds. worn and a bit dam., front side vol. 1 loose, both vols. a bit stained/water wrinkled in places, but actually in good interior condition).
Important manual on typography. Complete with all the plates, all the 186 pages of type specimens and the 101 alphabets (old and modern) called for. - Bigmore & Wyman, p. 228 (Dict. Port. de Biblogr., p. 218: "His types are the models of those of the best-printed books at Paris at this day"). In need of some restoration, but in fact a good set. - Sold w.a.f., not subject to return.€ 600
