No binding/cover present.Manuscript divided in chapters devoted to paint making, but which is also a manual on how to paint landscapes, portraits, and a lengthy essay (18 lvs.!) on how to draw and colour flowers ("Hoe men allerleij bloemmen sal aenleggen en couleuren"). On the 2nd leaf the work has a ms. dedication to the "seer hoegh wel geboren heer, der heren tot Well aen de Maes (…)" ending with the name Henricus van de Vehn (?). Well Castle, locally known as Kasteel Well, lies next to the village of Well, in the province of Limburg in the Netherlands.
