UTRECHT -- WERKHOVEN -- "ERFPACHTBRIEF voor den Heer W. van Dam van omtrent vier mergen Land, gelegen in den Gerechte van Werkhoven". 13 oct. 1806. Ms. on vellum w. blind stamped tax seal and attached wax seal by the Utrecht Chapter. 200 x 330 mm. -- Added: "LEENBRIEFF van de Hofstede genaamt Jan ten Halven gelegen tot Werkhoven verleijd Mejuffrouw Johanna Horn weduwe van de Heer Jan Grevingh". 19 dec. 1796. Ms. on vellum w. blind stamped tax seal. 250 x 425 mm. (Seal of the suzerain Jasper Cornelis van Bronckhorst is missing). -- (2).

Ad 1: With wax seal of the Utrecht Chapter, depicting St. Martin on horseback with the beggar; below the coat of arms of the Utrecht chapter; with caption: 'SIGILLUM ECCLESIAE METROPOLITANAE TRAIECTENSIS'. -- Ad 2: The homestead 'Jan ten Halven', later an inn with the same name, was situated between the Wijkseweg and the river Rhine.
