(c. 1690). Engr. by N. Cochin after S. de Pontault de Beaulieu representing the Battle of Lens which ended the 30-years War, printed on 2 conjoined sheets. 585 x 900 mm (image size).

Upper part of a larger representation of the Battle of Lens on 20 August 1648. The whole scene is surrounded on the right and left sides by a decorative triumphal arch of olive leaves held by a cock and an eagle, on top of which a portrait of Louis XIV is attached within an elaborate cartouche, representing him as a true 'sun king'. In good condition. - Sold as is, not subject to return.
