LOW COUNTRIES -- LEIDEN -- "LEIDEN". N.d. (early 16th c.?). Engr. perspective view of the city by J. à Doetinckum (Doetecum/Doetecom), w. lettered banner in the upper centre and 2 putti, one in the upper left corner holding a coat of arms representing the Leo Belgicus and one in the upper right corner holding the city arms of Leiden. 250 x 340 mm (image size), 320 x 410 (sheet size).

Very rare view of which only 1 other copy has come to market in recent years. Not in any collection, so not in Overvoorde. The paper was identified on the basis of the watermark as deriving from Antwerp, produced between 1554 and 1586.
