Early edition (first ed. 1566) of a world chronicle of the 16th century by the Carthusian monk L. Surius (1522-1578) from a catholic point of view opposed to protestant works, especially to that of Sleidanus. The work contains i.a. references to the Americas (description of Mexico city, Peru etc.) the Moluccas etc. According to an inscription on the v° of the ti., the book was given by Theotardus Paulus from Bolsward to a certain The(o)tardus ab Heerma on May 3rd 1578. - Adams S-2099; VD 16 S-10244; Sabin 93881 (1567 ed.).
