NATIONAL ASSEMBLY -- "NAUWKEURIGE AFBEELDING VAN DE NATIONALE VERGADERING IN DEN HAAG". Middelburg, 1797. 725 x 612 mm. Grav. d. George Kockers. (Several rep. on v°-side, small part of blank lower left corner torn off and replaced, a bit thumbed in places, small tear on both ends of central fold, but in reasonable condition).Very detailed and charming view on the First National Assembly which existed from March 1, 1796 to August 31, 1797. The representatives, 126 in total and accurately portrayed here, wear sashes with the word 'representant'. The room in which the meetings were held, was the former dance hall of the Stadtholder's Palace which was located near Maurits's Tower (Binnenhof). - Muller 5455a; Atlas v. Stolk 5373.
