DELTAKUNST -- "DE DELTAWERKEN". 1959-69. Impressive collection of 28 prints of various sizes (smallest 175 x 325, largest 340 x 445 mm) by a group of artists who visualized the Delta Works, consisting of 17 etchings, 8 lithographs (1 cold. & 1 tinted) and 3 woodcuts (1 tinted) by artists of the period. Loose in ocl. clamshell portfolio w. 2 ivory fasteners (leather ties broken).From 1959 to around 1970, the Dutch Ministry of Education, Arts and Sciences/Ministry of 'CRM' issued assignments to artists to record the Delta Works in Zeeland. The art they produced became known as 'Deltakunst', a mix of abstract and realistic art, typical for the period. Our portfolio - presented to a high official at the Delta Works - is a personal selection from these works. All prints signed in pencil, and printed in a small number of copies (all editions stated in pencil). Names of the artists who contributed: Nico Bakker, Cor Basart, Henk Huig, Ben Ikelaar, Mart Kempers, Harry van Kruiningen, Jan Kuiper, Frits Lensvelt, Piet Nieuwenhuijsen, Wim Noordhoek, Rob Otte, Willem den Ouden, Aat Verhoog, Auke de Vries, Wim Wijnberg, Ed van Zanden and Wim Zwiers.
