Justus Gerardus Swaving (1784-1835) wanted to convince his readers that everything he wrote had really happened. That is why he also explicitly mentions the names of living witnesses. Most of Swaving's stories contain at least one grain of truth, but - like most autobiographers - he also regularly tried to prove himself right by presenting things that differ from reality. First four all scarce autobiographical works. First editions. - Tiele 1074; Sabin 94028; NHSM I, p. 122.
