(Spine ends dam., upper joint partly split, corners dam., name entry on woodcut ti., in places misbound/w. erroneous foliation (Q1 and Q6 bound after Z etc., but complete!), upper blank margin of a few pp. a bit wormholed, margins stained in places, a bit browned).The first comprehensive edition of De l'Orme's writings, including both his 'Nouvelles inventions pour bien bastir et a petits fraiz' of 1561 and the 'Premier tome de l'architecture' of 1567. The inventions are here printed as books 10 and 11 of the 'premier tome', which originally only had nine books.
