Cont. green h. mor., spine raised in 6 gilt compartments, fine marbled endpapers. (Lacking plate 5 and 1 plain plate (called for by Lonchamp, but not called for in the plate list), 1 tissue guard torn, 1 tissue guard missing, but else in splendid condition without any foxing or browning).

Beautiful work displaying the romantic scenes of Switzerland, serving also as a kind of travel guide for artists and 'amateurs' to point them to the best scenes. Lory, Lafond and Zehender, all artists of prestige and specialists in producing aquatints, joined forces to make these beautiful views of Giessbach, Brienzersee, Schwyz, Flüelen, the Reichenbach-Fällen, the Teufelsbrücke, Insel Schwanau, etc. - Lonchamp 2417 ("Il y a une planche en noir et 9 petites vues").
